Report query

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone may have the answer to a question I have.

I have a report that lists surnames in alphabetical order but it lists the entry number in non numberical order.

Is there a way of showing surnames in alphabetical order and the having the autonumber showing the numbers in numerical order on the same report. So far I can only get the surnames in alphabetical order or the autonumber in numerical order on different reports, I can't seem to get both on the same report.

All I want is for a report to show surnames in alphabetical order and each entry having an id number which runs in numerical order.

Hi

Presumambly you mean Id Number within Surname eg

Name Id
Duck 3
Duck 5
Duck 7
Mouse 1
Mouse 2

if yes, the in you report design view, choose View \ Sorting and Grouping and put Surname on firstline, and Id on second line. Using your fields names of course.
