Report Problems

I have a report that's giving me a bit of trouble. I run a query that generates a single record in my answer table. This record I display between the record bands of the report. I then added a group band (1 record limit), to which I added three MROs between the record band and the lower group band, linked to from the answer table in one-to-many relationships. Name(answer)-> Addresses-> Phones-> Activities. This works exactly as it should, displaying the single name record in the middle, then the multiple Address, Phone and Activity records below it. The problem is that there is a memo field in the Activity table. If I include the memo field in the MRO, none of the fields in that MRO will display or print out. If I remove the memo field from the MRO, the other fields display and print out fine. Anyone have any idea about what might cause this behavior? Mac

What's probably happening is that the memo is stretching beyond the limits of the page. I'd check the various growable (and related properties, e.g. size to fit, fit height, etc).

In some reports, I've had to print memos using calculated fields that grab the first thousand characters or so.

Alternatively, you might consider printing the memo in a separate page, e.g. drop a page break, place the memo, and then drop a second page break after it.

Sorry if this is unintelligible (I'm having to write quickly). Still, I hope it helps...

Thanks Lance, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I tested on several records with as few as 3 words in the memo field and got the same results. There is plenty of room on the page, too. I did the fit height, etc... thing to no avail. I'm sure it's something simple but I just can't get it to work. Mac
