Can anyone help

I have a problem with printing a report which contains subreports

The report works and looks fine on my screen but when printed the subreports are not printed

thanks

First off, try printing the report out of design view, and not print preview. Second, check the visible property of the subs to make sure they didn't get set = false.

I have heard of this most often when the subreports depend on a criteria from controls on a form that gets closed by some code in the main report or elsewhere. This should be discovered by genomon's suggestion to print directly from design view (or possibly the database window).

I have printed directly from design view and it works fine so not sure what the next step is if my report doesn't print from print preview?
Can anyone help

Not saure what question you're referring to so to recap

Form prints okay from desing view

No subforms set to visible = False

The printed version matches the report

Thanks

Well, I guess logically you would open it in design view, click on file, then click on print. If you are using the new printer object model, open it in acDesign, print, and close.

Thanks but would like the user to open the report in print preview and then print if they want to and this is when it doesn't seem to work

My earlier reply suggests you might have code or something in your report or elsewhere that closes a form that feeds criteria to your report or subreport.

Does your main or subreport get criteria from a control on a form?

Is there any code or macro that might be closing the form?

When you report is finally closed is there a form that had been open but now is closed?

Please reply to Duane - he has some great points.
Anyway, the easy answer is to have your users open in preview; if they like what they see, then they close it, open in design, then print. If that is too difficult for them, then create a form with a couple of command buttons and accomplish the preview/close/open in design/print/close sequence with VBA.

Thanks to all for their help - have now managed to solve the problem which was due to referring to a form control when the form wasn't open so once again many thanks
I have now moved on to my next problem which I will post in the form forum
