I print my Outlook contacts to insert into my Day Timer.
I like the layout option I'm using, but I want to print the contacts on both sides of the paper, which I can't do the way I want in Outlook.

I have exported my contacts to Access, and created a two column report, that prints my contacts on the left side of a landscape layout of an 8 1/2 X 11 paper. I plan to cut the sheets in half to fit into my Day Timer.

I want to set the report so it prints the report on Both halves of this layout.
It will work if I set the columns to 4, but it doesn't think of the right half as a separate page, and I want that because I have a Page header I want to print each half.

The other problem, and the main reason I want to do this in Access is I want to Print on both sides of the paper, to minimize the number of pages needed in the Day Timer.
That's a printer function, BUT the Page sequencing is an issue.

On the front side I need the report to print Page 1 and 3 and on the Back Side 4 then 2
So that the left half has Page 1 on the front and2 on the back, the right has 3 on the fron and 4 on the back, continuing that pattern for the entire address book. about 60 pages total.

So there are two issues I need to solve:
1. Printing 2 report pages on the landscape 8 1/2 X 11 paper (left & right halves)
2. Controlling the page sequencing as described in the above paragraph.

Can I do this in Access? How?

Maybe someone knows of an easier way to skin this cat. I use Access for reporting ALL the time and love it, but in this case maybe there is a better tool for the job?

Thanks in Advance,
Chuck

Chuck,

I really think this is a printer type of a problem, not something that could be done in your report, unless you want to do a whole lot of coding.

As a thougth that might help you get to where you want to be, have Access "print" to your 1/2 size pages, but output that report to Word. Then, within Word, move the pages into the order you need them to create the printable pages you need. I really think this would take less time than the programming of it.

OR!
Find a printer that will handle this type of printing and buy it. It will be cheaper than the time spent trying to write the code.
