Hi Team!

I have a report in which I have 4 fields vertically arranged in the report's Page Footer. I have opted 'Remove Line If Blank' in 'Print When' tab for all those 4 fields. The Print when condition also set "_PAGENO = _PAGETOTAL" for all fields.

What I expect is, in all pages other than the last page (ie _pageno = _pagetotal), the detail band should utilize the full height of the page (as none of the Page Footer fields is printed because of Print When condition) and in the last page the fields of Page Footer will be printed and the Detail Band will adjust on its own to accommodate the Page Footer content.

Also, the Page Footer band has a Property "Constant Band Height" which I have unchecked.

However, this doesn't seem to work.
Anyone has an idea? Or any suggestion to get what I want?

Thanks in advance
Rajesh

Hi

However, this doesn't seem to work.

What does not work? Could you please be a little bit more specific and provide 1) a picture of the Report Layout and 2) a picture of the printout or a zip-file with data and the FRX/FRT files

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your response. I have attached screen image of report designer.
May be, I have not explained it well.

I have some fields in the Page Footer. But, I want those to be printed only on the last page. So, in the Print When tab, I have opted for 'Blank If Empty' and the condition is "_PAGENO = _PAGETOTAL". This is done for all elements in the Page Footer. Also, in the Page Footer band property, the 'Constant Band Width' is Un-Checked.

What I expected was that the page footer will be printed only on last page and in all other pages, Detail Lines will be printed till bottom of the page without leaving out space for footer (around 1.5 inches as you can see in the image).

But, when previewed, in every page the space for footer is left even though the content is printed only on the last page.

I don't want to use 'Summary Band' because the Summary band prints immediately after the Detail Lines finish and may not be always at bottom of page. I want the summary of report to be at bottom of page always.

It's clear now I hope! Any idea what could be the problem? Why unchecking the 'Constant Band Width' doesn't have any effect?

Thanks
Rajesh

As observed in thread184-1795757 trhe report engine at fisr treats a band height as it is and not as it will be when all "remove line if blank" are taken into account. And in that report case it wasn't about the footer but the detail band and it really works to get more data on each page just by putting report controls closer together or even on top of each other when they never print at the same time.

Perhaps the simplest way is to put all you want to print into a memo or simply string variable with line feeds. Have a single line page footer control that's set to stretch with overflow.

Bye, Olaf.

Yes, that's what I said with the idea of using a single line report control set to stretch with overflow. That means page breaks will be before that line, but that's bearable, you could even make up for that by making the margin shorter.

Bye, Olaf.
