Where does it say you can publish to upfront in HTML or Excel format ? I've never seen it.

I am not saying that i have published in HTML/excel/PDF format.

i have already published the report to upfront.

Now I am running it and the output comes in PDF format. I want it in HTML/excel format.

I know that Impromptu reports we can change the output formats by going to the properties. But the same options are not available for Powerplay reports.

My question is how to get the powerplay report output in other formats

regards,
sudhi

The principle of PPES is to allow a report to be available via a browser as a static (pdf) or dynamic (html frames) image.
The default is pdf. Go to Properties and then Advanced Properties of the report to change the mode of running from Web Viewer to Web Explorer.
AFAIK, you can only get excel-compatibility within PPES by saving it as csv from the File icon on the lower bar of PPES.
If you've got users wanting Excel or static html versions of PP reports, I guess you'll have publish them from PP Client and then put links in upfront to their location. (I do such for Impromptu reports as we can't justify the cost of IWR on top of PPES!)

my report from cube is Correlation type chart. But on the web that chart option is not there at all :'(((

so it works only as PDF, if I change to Web Explorer, its not coming in the default format I specified.

And even in the PDF outcome, the report is as I wanted, its coming in Portrait print mode and hence the graph is splitting into 2-3 pages, anyways to make it landscape or fit to a page?

regards,
sudhi

When defining your report in PP client , you can specify Portrait or landscape in Page properties , and somewhere in the Graph properties you can specify that the Graph should fit in 1 page only.
Then when you save the report or publish it to UpFront , these properties remain

Might be a bit late. However...

In the Upfront web portal, go into the PROPERTIES of the desired report. Click on the REPORT tab. Click the ADVANCED PROPERTIES link. Under PRODUCE THE FOLLOWING OUTPUTS, check/uncheck the desired checkboxes. Also, don't forget to update the drop-down box for DEFAULT SHOW ACTION. If you select EXCEL as the output and leave the default as PDF, then you're going to have problems!!!

These options are only available for IWR, the question is about how to do the same in PPES.

There is a choice in the Upfront report's properties, Report Propertie, Advanced I think: Execute in PowerPlay Web Explorer, you have now Execute in PowerPlay Web, which means pdf.

Cheers
