Report Orientation

How can I set up a report so that the Details are shown on the in columns. Basically, I am trying to set something up that mimics the design of a word document. The hierarchy is not just top to bottom but rather, left to right.

Is there any way to do this?

In your report design, go to File - Page Setup. Go on the Columns tab and enter the number of coulmns you wish. At the bottom, select the column layout. You would want Across, then Down.

You will have to play with the column size. This will depend on the number of columns you setup.
