Crystal = 10.0
Data = Excel spread sheet

When the data in the spread sheet is changed and the Crystal report is then opened, the report does not reflect the changes.

I have checked that the boxes 'save data with report' are not checked, and I have tried 'refresh report data', but all to no avail.

The spread sheet is simple: about 10 columns and 1000 rows.

Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

check that your data source is set to use the whole worksheet and not just the rows which were initially populated.

Try going to database->verify database.

Thanks Gary

I think that what you say is right.

When I amend a row in the Excel spread sheet the amendment is recognised and displayed properly in Crystal. However, when I add a new row to the spread sheet the new row is not shown by Crystal.

I am not sure from your suggestion whether I should be trying to change one or more of the parameters in Crystal or the parameters in Excel. I have looked at both and made no headway.

Would you please give me a little more help - and do not be afraid of stating what is obvious to you because I really know very little about Excel and Crystal.

Regards

When you create the connection to the excel spreadsheet in CR make sure that you select the datasource corresponding to the sheet and not a defined selection.

When I create a connection worksheets end with a $ i.e.

sheet1$
sheet2$

where as defined ranges have no $ on the end

Thanks again Gary.

I renamed my Excel worksheet and re-attached it to Crystal using the 'set database location' feature, and now changes to the worksheet - amendments of existing data and new addition rows - are all reflected in Crystal.

I am very grateful for you help.

Kindest regards

Brian
