The typical access report prints down the page, I am looking to print with the results going across the page.

Normal Example:
Store 1 - Date - Sales
Store 2 - Date - Sales
Store 3 - Date - Sales
Store 4 - Date - Sales

Here is what I am looking for:
Store 1 - Date Store 2 - Date
Sales Sales

Store 3 - Date Store 4 - Date
Sales Sales

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe if you wanted

store name store name

date SALE SALE
date SALE SALE
date SALE SALE

You could use a cross tab query with date as row value store as column heading and sale as value#

if this is not what you mean let me know & I will revisit the problem

regards

jo

Thats not quite what I was looking for, my problem is not in the query. The problem I have is that I can not get the results to print across in my report. Just a simple example should put me on the right track.

Normal Report:
Store 1
Store 2
Store 3
Store 4

What I want:

Store 1 Store 2 Store 3 Store 4
Store 5 Store 6 Store 7 Store 8

Something along those lines would be perfect.

mc,
Have you tried the "across then down" option in the page setup?
jim

Across then down is for columns, like:

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3

All reporting different fields. What I am looking to do is put different records of the same field across in that manner.

correct, but if you set up the report for columns and then set to "a then d" ...

The "Across then Down" option does not provide the report that I need. Here is what I have and what I am looking for:

Have: (Query)
Store# Sales Date
-------------------------
Store1 Sales1 Date1
Store2 Sales2 Date2
Store3 Sales3 Date3
Store4 Sales4 Date4

Have: (Report)
Store1 Sales1 Date1
Store2 Sales2 Date2
Store3 Sales3 Date3
Store4 Sales4 Date4

Need: (Report)
Store1 Date1 Sales1 Store2 Date2 Sales2
Store3 Date3 Sales3 Store4 Date4 Sales4

If you set up the page format for 2 columns to print across then down you will end up with the report you need. Just set up the detail as Store# Sales Date. When the report is printed is will print the first store in the left column, the 2nd in the right column, the 3rd in the left column, the 4th in the right column, and so on.

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed.
