I have installed reporting services and when I bring the RM up in my browser, it is very "plain". All it show is what I have pasted below:

localhost/ReportServer_SS2K5 - /

Wednesday, July 09, 2008 9:44 AM <dir> SQLH2_Reports

----------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.3152.00

Why are there no tabs that show "content, properties" or anything else.

And how do I go about not showing my datasource folder.

Thanks!

Thanks

what url are you using to display the RM?

is what mine is under...

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

So here is a catch I should have mentioned right off.

I have both SS2K5 and SS2K8 installed on this server (actually was done by another DBA). The SQL Server 2008 was installed first SO ...

When I installed SS2K5 (with reporting services) I had to configure RS with another name since the default name was taken by the SS2K8 install.

The virtual name for the Report Server virtual dir is ReportServer_SS2K5 and the Rpt Mngr virtual dir is Reports_SS2K5.

When I try I am presented with the "very plain" screen that I posted above (reports are there and functioning but there are no tabs or anything.

However ... when I try I get a new error:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

As a side note, if I fire off or ... I get a "The page cannot be found" error.

Thanks

Have you got IIS installed? Is the .NET framework installed etc? You may need to register ASP.NET with IIS using the following:

aspnet_regiis -i

(use the command line from C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 (or whatever version you have))

BINGO!

That was the missing piece ... Thanks Jennyek2000
