I have a db for a sports club. A table shows events on different dates, and a separate table shows peoples’ names.

I am trying to design a report with dates horizontally and names vertically so that members can mark availability for the events.

I’ve tried a cross tab but there is no link between the tables.
I could set the people in a subreport, but if I do that how can I set the dates horizontally?

Help please guys

use a crosstab query, and if there's no join between the tables, then use a cross join, assuming you want all people on all dates...

Thanks for your reply, I have been attempting to find out what a "cross join" is, but without sucess.

The two tables look as follows

table1
day_date
match

table2
member_name

The report display I am looking for is similar to

date1 date2 date3 date4 etc
name1
name2
name3

Is it possible for you to show an SQL statement to generate this?

Thanks

Create a crosstab query with both tables. Use member name as the row heading and day_date as the column heading. It doesn't look like you have anything to display as the value so create a column with the expression " " and use First as the Total and Value as the Crosstab.
