Hi All,

Is there a way in CM 2.? (too lazy to look) to run a report to see which stations have a call-forward button.

My esteemed colleague has sent a report by running list call-forwarding that shows who is currently actively using the button and the destination. He also told my boss that this shows who has the button. WRONG, because I have the button and was not on the list.

Of course now my boss wants a list from our other sites and the colleague has been sick for the past three days. Coincidence? Maybe, but now I have to produce.

Just wondering if there is a way to identify which stations have a call-forward button by running a report. Thank for the replies.

Thanks,

ummm, no. you wil have to display every station and take notes, there is no report for this.

There's an easy(ish) way to do this if you are using digital stations. Using ASA, select "Print Button Labels" (under the General tab). Select the phone type (you may have to do this several times for each phone type you have). When the information is displayed on the screen, you can print it out (several stations are on each individual page) and then scan the printed pages for the button(s) you are looking for.

It's not great but it's better than using the "disp stat xxxx" command several hundred times.

I haven't tested this, but here's my theory.

Download all the station info from ASA and put it into Excel. You should then be able to sort using Excel and use the =countif coomand to look for call forward buttons.

Very vague here I know, but if you're struggling let me know and I'll test it for you.

I have tried this - an export of the station information from ASA does *not* include an of the station button information.

I am currently using the suggestion by Susan. I wonder if this could of been done with Provision. But then again since I do not have Provision, never mind.

Thanks for the replys.

Provision can store the data in an excel type spreadsheet, so you could search for the button, but, you would need to have access to ProVision to download your station programming to use it.

Susans method of viewing button labels on the screen, or priting them out and looking is probably the best method if you don't have ProVision.

tell the boss everyone that has a cos with callfwd has access to callfwd using feature access codes.

Use the report feature in ASA, enter the command
display station xxxx count nnnnn where xxxx is the first station in your database, and nnnnn is the max number of stations you might have. Click on "Export Fields to File", give a file name and run it.

It'll take a few minutes to run, but once you have the file you can open it in Excel and manipulate the data as needed. This does show what is programmed on each button for each set. It's just not always in the same place in each record.

I do this monthly to get a count of how many DS1FD's I'm currently using. I also use the information to update an inventory database.

Duaneness - great tip; I did not know that this was possible. Thank you!
