Report immediately goes into (Not Responding) 1

CRV10 I have a report that uses about 10 tables, 15 formulas and 15 running totals, about 5 groups and 1 parameter (start/stop date). When I try to refresh, and enter the new start/stop dates, log into the datasource, the report immediately goes into "Not Responding" at the top of the screen where you see the report title. Task manager shows Crystal as not responding as well. If I wait 30 minutes, sometimes more, it finally runs. Other reports seem to run fine.

I tried removing all of the formulas and running totals but the performance and error message stayed the same.

I have set report options to perform grouping on server and I have basically selected anything that is done on the server as well as select distinct for browsing.

I would appreciate any advise on other things I should check.

Oh, one more thing. The report returns about 6,000 records.

This happens to me quite frequently when I have many tables with lots of records. Try rethinking on how to approach the report. Perhaps there is some information in this report that might not be necessary?

Usually when I sit back and really ponder the reports purpose I am able to clean it up a bit and make it run much faster.

I know thats not very helpful but thats just my "limited" experience.
