Okay here is the deal.

I have a report which uses a crosstab query to show Mon - Fri as column headers and event categories as row headers (I can anticipate your groans as I type):

Event Type Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
---------- ------ ------- --------- -------- ------
Major Ann.
Government
Comp event
Actions

Now I can pass a date range into the query and hence report and show the detail in this "Calendar View" This works fine. What I am looking to do is have the short date (i.e. 12/11 (UK format)) showing next to the relevant day on the report label (Monday 29/11).

Now I know Calendar views are a nightmare to get working in Access and I also know I am forcing a crosstab query to do something it doesn't really like. However the requirements are for a calendar view and a flat report just looks plain confusing for what is essentially a visual tool.

Can the above be done without breaking the crosstab query or descending into masses of code? And can the query be used to show a four weekly view of the calendar (i.e showing one Mon-Fri week per page for four pages) rather than running them one at a time?

Any thoughts appreciated as I do not have the luxury of wasting time chasing shadows on this one.

Many thanks

Masses of code should not be necessary. Check faq703-5466 to see how to do this for a monthly report. You should be able to "re-purpose" this to a daily report. There are several crosstab and calendar type report samples at
