Hi all - My apologies in advance if this is a simple question or has been answered in these forums(I couldn't find an exact match when searching).

I have a table that contains client #/name, invoice count/amount that is grouped by year/quarter.

I will group the report by year and I want the invoice counts/amounts to be displayed by quarter all on the same detail line rather than having to group by quarter also. The resulting report should look something like:

GH1: Year
GH2: Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4
D: Client Count/$Amt Count/$Amt Count/$Amt Count/$Amt

Hopefully this makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should always specify your CR version, as solutions depend upon this.

Then all you need to do is insert a crosstab in a year group header or group footer section, where you choose {table.date} as your column field->group options->print on change of quarter. You can then change the display by going to the options tab in the same screen->customize group name->use a formula:

"Q"+totext(datepart("q",{table.date})

Then add {table.client} as your row field and the count and amt as summary fields. Then go to the customize style tab->summary fields->check: horizontal summaries->check: show labels.
