hi is there no way i can edit my report using the report wizard without it total formating the layout when i click on finish. All text boxes lose theer set sizes etc
any possible solutions?

The idea of a 'wizard' is that it does everything for you, without you needing to know much about what's going on. But since it's only a piece of software, it has to do everything in a very standard way, one that has been proved to work.

If you think about stuff you've written for other people's needs, you may see why software WE use can't be expected to do everything we'd like it to.

I'd suggest you leverage the Wizard at report creation time where appropriate, and then use the tools supplied for making alterations.

Pretty much anything you want to do in a wizard you can do Elsewhere, and with more control.

I like SV use the wizard onyl at the very beginning of the report creattion. Basically I select the tables and fields I want, and then go straight to report design. I never use the wizard to create formula fields, perform record selections, etc.

The point about having more control doing things without the wizard cannot be overstated.

If you are unsure how to do something w/o the wizard, just ask.
