I have had a recurring problem on both paradox 10 and paradox 8. Many long reports will duplicate the last record (once on the bottom of the page and once on the top of the next page). Technical support gave me a whole range of possible problems , none of which solved the probem.
They advised not using a table but using multi-record format. this did not cure the problem
they advised that it may be the printer and not the print engine.

any thoughts

adelson007,

In my experience, this usually happens when the contents of the record band cant completely be printed. I haven't seen this for some time, but I used to see it pretty regularly in older versions of Paradox.

Without a clearer idea of your current report layout, it's hard to provide a completely useful answer, but I generally get around things like this by first making sure that the record band doesn't contain a table frame and then by making sure the group band contains a container around the objects that ocassionally get repeated. (I'll frequently use a box and set its Color to white, so it doesn't print.) If you uncheck the container's Breakable property, it should get pushed to the next page without printing.

If you need a table frame, then:

1. Separate the Header
2. Move it out of the All Records band, perhaps into a group header.
3. Reduce the Table frame so it only shows a single row.
the
4. Make sure the table frame is set to Fit Rows.

While it's tricky to get Paradox to fully respect orphans and widows, it can be done. It just takes a little fiddling.

Hope this helps...

P.S. It's also a good idea to resave your reports after switching machines, applying Windows service packs, updating/reinstalling Paradox, and/or making other environmental changes that affect printing.
