Hi Guys,

I have created a Report package with the Crystal Report Distribution Expert (CR 8.5). Everything works perfectly if the user accesses the Report.exe direclty on the server - but if the user accesses it through remote desktop it does not allow the report.exe to be opened. We have given full access to Program folder directory.

Any ideas regarding this issue.

Note: the Report Distribution Expert is a Crystal Add-on.

This is likely a permissions issue with remote desktop rather than anything to do with crystal. Which means you might be in the wrong forum with this. You might be better off with a Windows forum, talking to an MCSE.

Look to see if P2sodbc.dll is in the system directory of the server. If it isn't there, put it there. Give your user access to this file and access to that directory. See if that clears it up. You can always back the permissions down later after you prove whether this works or not.

If you cannot find this file, look for it on the crystal media.

Let us know. There's other possibilities, of course. You could temporarily put the user in admin and see if the same problem occurs. You could get one of your regular admins to try to open the file the same way, and see if it does the same thing.

Here's an article that has an immense number of links to Windows Remote Desktop Knowledge Base articles. You might consider plumbing their depths.

Just to overload you a little further, here is an article on the app with a set of KB articles at the end from Crystal. Just go to the crystal site and do a search for the specific article number.

Hope any of this helps.
