Report Distribution/Delivery Mechanism

What is the prefered Crystal Report Delivery Mechanism these days. I remember being able to create an executible out of a rpt years ago, and have worked with Crystal Enterprise more recently. Which method of report delivery is being used most successfully, efficiently, economically, etc?

I would say it really depends what you are planning to do / how many reports you need to deploy etc. For larger deployments, we've used Crystal Enterprise Pro (now Business Objects Enterprise) for a few years and it has generally been very good in terms of stability and ease of use. It's now getting very expensive though. I believe there's now a cut-down version (Crystal Reports Server) designed for smaller businesses which is more reasonably priced. Have a look at

I could be wrong but I don’t think the exe is around anymore (I think CR9 was the last version to support it), but there are various 3rd party viewers if you only have a few users. Have a look at:
