I have a report with several simple subreports that is incredibly slow to preview. It first appears quickly but when you click through the pages, it takes a very long time just to get to the next page.

I have looked a some of the old posts on this but the only questions I could find that were similar to mine had no replies.

Is this going to be another one I wonder.....

Any help would be vastly appreciated as the deadline quickly approaches for this report to be completed.....

Thanks

As I understand it. The report is built to preview. When you ask it to go to the next page the report rebuilds entirely and then goes to the next page.

You could consider using a query instead to perhaps do away with the subreports

The report is a collection of about 9 subreports and they all use queries. Just tried writing the results into a temp table first then making the queries read of that and it is 100 times fast on preview.

Thanks for the reply.

Cheers
