Hi,

I really confuse how can I adjust the column width of the reports ?
for example :

I want to decrease the width of every column, but seems it cannot be set.

i am sorry for my idiot question.
Thanks for you kindly help.

Not an idiot question at all -- this perplexes many people. It's a multi-step process so I'll walk you through them.

First, you need to know that *almost* *all* (but not *ALL*) reports come from two things:

1. A table (and tables are, generally, either Task Tables or Resource tables.)
2. A filter

For this exercise, let's change the "Who Does What" report (note: *not* the Who Does What When report).

We begin with the table. But which table?

Click on View | Reports | Assignments | Select-button
SINGLEclick on Who Does What.
Click on the Edit button, click on the Definition tab.

Look at the field next to "Table:". In this case, it will say "Usage". Make a note of that and then click the Cancel, Close, Close buttons to close all the popup windows.

Click on View | Table:xxx | More tables...

In the popup you'll probably see that the "Task" radio button has been selected and if you look at the list of tables you'll see that there is a Usage table. This is NOT the Usage table you want. (How do I know? Many years of experience.)

Click on the Resource radio button, click on the Usage table and click on the Copy button.

In the popup, change the Name to "ResUsageReport", put a check mark in "Show in menu" and change the Width entry for the Name row to 15 (from 43 -- which is the default). Click on OK to save your data and close the popup, click on Cancel to close the "More Tables" popup.

Click on View | Reports | Assignments | Select-button
SINGLEclick on "Who Does What"
Click on the Edit button, click on the Definition tab
Where it says "Table", look for "ResUsageReport" and select it.
Click on the OK button to close the "Resource Report" popup.
Click on the Select button and you will see your report with the changed width.

Almost all reports work this way so now that you know how to change one, you know how to change almost all.
