Another simple question:

My users want the new report to look just like their old Excel spreadsheet it replaces. (I've got problems with that notion to begin with - new business process, new system, new look, right?- but I lost.) Some of the cells in the spreadsheet are shaded with a couple of levels of gray. "No problem," I thought. "I'll just fill those text controls from the color palette." Looks right in Report Designer, but prints white as, well, paper!

What am I missing?

TIA,

Check that the mode of the report object is set to opaque and not transparent, (default).

Chris :)

Chris, maybe this is a newbie-type question, but how do I get there? If I right-click on the object, I get a box with some choices, one of which is "Properties". If I choose that, I go to the Report Expression dialog, which has no indication of a mode to set.

Still missing something,

Don't right-click - select the object with a single left-click, then go to the Format menu.
