I'm looking to spruce up reports and am not sure if Access has the capibility to do it, or if there is a better alternative. This is kind of long and hard to explain, but I appreciate any help given.
I have a report that ouputs invoices and groups them by product, then by sales person. I know access can insert page breaks if the first/last line of the detail is not shown on the same page as the group header/footer.
But, lets say that the group is only 5 lines long, and there are 4 lines left on the page, I want it to insert a page break and put all 5 lines on the next page.
One way I thought of is to count the lines in the group, then count the lines left on the page, and try and work it from that angle. I heard that Access does not have the ability to count the totoal lines in the group until after the group is output. Is this correct, or do I need to investigate buying something more robust for the reports?
Thanks in advance for helping me on this.
