We are trying to do two things with some old reports: (1) upgrade from CR6 to CR7, and (2) since the database has been upgraded from FoxPro to SQL, repoint the reports to the new SQL database. We brought the CR6 report into CR7 just fine, but after we go through Convert Database Driver, Set Location, and refresh the data, no records are selected. The error message is that there are no fields in the database (which is wrong)...

What are we doing wrong? The fields appear to map properly.

Thanks a lot! [sig][/sig]

First, make sure you can create a new simple report using the new database. This rules out any strange connection problems.

I had this problem once and solved it by changing drivers and upgrading in 2 separate steps.

1) Open the original V6 report in V7, save it under a new name and CLOSE it. It should ask you if you want to convert it to V7.

2) Reopen it in V7 and now do the convert database driver, set location, verify database, etc.

In our case, we didn't realize we were trying to convert the driver before the report had been upgraded.
