Hello in outlook off a lan exchange server. I'm using someone elses log on for email. How do I get all the mails I send to have a return address (I have specified)?

With OL2002(XP):

To have replies to your message sent to another person
[ol][li]Create a message.[/li][li]Click Options.[/li][li]Under Delivery options, select the Have replies sent to check box.
[/li][li]Type the name of another person, or click Select Names to select from a list. [/li][/ol] ----

I have to send lots of mails. Is it possible to make sure I don't have to always follow your instructions every time I send a mail?

Thanks

Chris

Are you are loging on to an exchange account not your own because you are an administrative assistant type for that person then you want to send emails say as yourself and have recipiants reply to you?

If that is the case have the excahnge administrator set you up with "Delegate Access" to the other person's account then log in as yourself. From there you can read send and expect replies depending on whose behalf you send the message. Whomever's name you put in the From box will be the reply to address.

See this article at MS for a descrition of this functionality:

By the way I got outlook 2000.

I have no log on for email thats why I have to use someone elses but I need replies to go to a certain other address so I don't clog up his mail inbox and instead the mail will go to a general mailbox.

One solution as you mentioned is when contructing an email I type in the from field theAddressIWantMyEmailToGoTo@theDomain.com, but I'd rather be able to write an email without doing this but still know its going to theAddressIWantMyEmailToGoTo@theDomain.com .

thanks

Chris

Thanks

Chris

I know of no way to "automate" the process, sorry. ----

In a message Click View and select 'From Field' and you can use the 'From...' button to select the senders name you wish to use. You need to have Admin rights or have Send As permissions on the Site container to be able send as any user.

To have a different permanent reply address your exchange admin needs to add you as an exchange user and set up the delegate access ( You probably don't have your own account to save one licence)

Chris

another solution would be Tools/Accounts/ Mail/Properties and change the reply address there.. just remember to change it back or you'll have to forward the user's emails.

The accounts sub menu does not exist as this is outlook coming off exchange not a pop account.
