Hi,

I have 2 MySQL servers (windows environmment).
I want to setup one way replication between them; Server B must contain the same data as Server A, but if change data on Server B, this change may not be propagated to server A.
Is this possible and how do I proceed?

Thanks,
Daddy

Yes possible this does sound like standard replcation covered in detail at
Classically you would not make any changes to data on the slave you would update/insert/delete only on the master... but there is nothing to stop you just updating the slave that I know of ... obviously you need to be very careful that any changes on the slaves do not mess up any changes that might later come from the master.....
The obvious question is what are you trying to achieve? there may be a better way than replication....

I just want to create a "hot" standby server, in case the master server goes down.

Yes that is straight replication out of the manual.

Thanks for the info!
