Hi,

SQL Server Replication

I have created a a new Publication and have set the replication snapshot to be run every night at 04:00. The snapshot is saved to the snapshot folder <default path>\<publication>\<datestamp>\. I only want the latest copy of the snapshot held in the snapshot folder so my question is:

What controls how many snapshots are kept in the snapshot folder and how can I adjust this.

All comments and ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary.

Snapshots are only generated, when a subscriber has been marked for initialization. In effect, they are all one-use snapshots, which makes sense, as the system itself would want the latest snapshot, in order to do the least work with the distribution agent.
