Hi,

I am using workstation-to-server replication of mail database for user with laptop. Now, he changed a laptop and I need to set-up new replication. Is it possible not to create New Replica, just to copy local database from one laptop to another and somehow connect (re-establish) replication with server's databse? I tried many ways, but no success.

Thanks,
Laki

Theoretically you could probably just copy the dbf files. I've tried it a couple of times but don't have a whole lot of success. Probably better off just creating new replicas.

Thanksa, but copy won't help, because new copy of dbf will have different Replication ID. Ithink I will copy whole folder.

I think that Dan was referring to a network copy of the database, not a "File/Database/New Copy" action.

A network copy is essentially a replica, but the problem is that, somehow, you often end up with a corrupted and useless database if you do it while the server is running.

Pascal.

I've got nothing to hide, and I'd very much like to keep that away from prying eyes.
