Replication (Merge) with sql server 2000

I have a half dozen merge replications jobs set up and working between two servers. I been trying to setup another merge replication but keep getting the following message:

The schema script '\\NVIS\$SQLDATA$\unc\NVIS_cbn_blogs_cbn_blogs\20080704040506\subtext_Config_1.sch' could not be propagated to the subscriber. The step failed.

I searched for an answer but have found none that worked for this situation. Can anyone help?
