Replication merge agent

I have set up a replication between pocket pc and SQl Server 2000. It was working fine for a while but for some reason there was an error, the "Merge Agent" and the "Replication Monitor" folder on enterprise manager where marked with a red X, error sign. I recreated the snapshot and the problem was fixed. I tested it several times and every thing works fine. How ever I still see the error sign on the replication monitor and the merge agent folder on the enterprise manager tree.
Why isn't the error sign going away?

Sounds like the merge agent was never restarted. Right click on the agent and click "Start Agent".

If all goes well that red x should go away.


I'd recommend setting a schedule to restart it every few minutes so that if it fails for some reason, it will restart. (That's assuming that you have it set to con continuously).
