Hi.

I have recently created a quotes database, in Access upsized it to SQL and successfully replicated it across domains (UK - USA) between 2 SQL servers. In addition I've replicated (merge) out to desktops here in the UK to MS Access front ends from the UK SQL Server. The replication works, what I change here on my desktop can be seen in the corresponding table in the USA. What I need to do now is replicate out to desktops in the USA, however I'm having some difficulty with this on the US SQL Server. I keep getting a message;

"The db contains one or merge Subscriptions that are anonymous or that uses the priority of the publisher when resolving conflicts". I can get rid of this by dropping all subscriptions to the US. But that’s not what I want and now I am not sure about my approach on this.

Am I taking the right approach? Or should I simply replicate to US Desktops from here? I would appreciate any ideas on this. Sorry this is long winded.

Cheers

Your network traffic costs would be greatly reduced by replicating to the US desktops from the US Server.

Basically you setup your publication on the UK Server. Then do a push subscription on the US Server. When you get to the screen in the wizard about conflict resolution select the lower option, and enter a number in the box. Read the description. It should explain it pretty clearly. As the message you got said it can't be an anonymous subscription.

Once the merge agent from the UK server to the US Server is done loading all the tables on the US Server, you should be able to setup the US Server as a Publisher, and setup all your US clients as subscribers to that publication.
