I am new to Replication (Using SQL Server 7) and have been playing around and was able to replication the database to itself. What I need to do is replicate our database to go to a DNS name so that once it is set up it will always go to the DNS name even if the target box changes (they would just change the DNS name on the target box).

Can someone give me some insight on how I would setup a Subscriber of this type. I have looked around in SQL Server, but I'm not sure what type of data source, etc., and if I can do everything from SQL or do I need to register the name first, etc. I thought maybe I could set it up in ODBC, but I am not sure what exactly I need to do. When I go to "Enable New Subscriber" the kinds listed are SQL, Microsoft Jt 4.0, ODBC and OLE DB, so I don't know where DNS falls.

Any help would be appreciated.
