Replicated database reverted to regular database

When I opened a database today that was the design master for a replicated database it changed to a "regular" database. Have no idea how that happened and all the data and work done last week is all there. Two questions: any ideas why it happened? and how do I make it a design master again? I have a partial replica that needed to be synchronized to this and I want to be able recreate the connections.

Any thoughts!
