Hello! I have a prob and cant seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. I want to replicate my personal Names.NSF to a location on my hard disk, preferably another partition. I have tried to set it up and nothing happens, not even an error is generated. I must then make a full copy of it everyweek and paste it into the target partition, overwriting the previous copy. I want this done automatically from my workstation.

Can someone outline the steps for me? I use Notes R5 5.07

when you say replicate - I presume you mean copy? If this is the case, I would just write a little VB code to do the copying and then set up Windows Schedule to perform this every week. If I am wrong in what you want, let me know. Lamaar75@hotmail.com

Hi!... I want it to just replicate the latest additions/deletions to my personal NAB that I have backed up in the D:\notesBU folder.
I already have to do a copy and paste from the working copy in c:\Notes\Data - to the D:\notesBU folder on my hard disk which overwrites the previous copy that was backed up. I don't do any kind of scripting so that is out of the question. Someone told me replication will not work from my workstation - to a folder on my workstation. I dont know but find it a real pain in the can to have to do this and remind myself to do it as well...

But thank you for responding to this, I really appreciate it!

PS I am taking a Learningtree course on Domino R5 administration and want to know if anyone knows if it is any good...

Thanks,

NT

I believe Learning Tree offer some good courses but before you jump in at the deep-end, get some background on the ins-and-outs of domino administration. With regards the copying of your names.nsf file, I can send you the VB file to do this if you drop me a line. All you will have to do then is setup MS Schedular to run it once a week.

Thank you! I really appreciate it! I wish Notes had it built in to replicate my personal databases to wherever I specify, but I'll have to make do I guess. I can receive emails at eyespi@leapit.com
