What would be the best way to replace a user in Crystal Enterprise 10? I have a user who is leaving and I need to have a new user take over everything. We are using Windows NT user authentication.

Thanks.

Since you're using NT Authentication, you elected to inherit rights from the network, hence you'll have to assign the same rights to this user.

Using groups can simplify this, if you're not already doing so.

The problem is that I don't have enough license to create a new user and assign rights. Is it possible where I directly modify the existing user with a new one?

Thanks.

Hi,
No..If you cannot create a new user, tell someone who can ( probably your network admin) to do it..If you are using NT authentication, that is the only way to remove one user and add another..
Assign all the rights ( folders, reports, etc)to the new user as were set for the old one once the new user is in your CE system..

Not yet since I have not deleted that user as of yet. What you are saying, therefore, is that I have to delete the user and create a new one, then reassign all permissions, right?

Thanks.

I believe so, since the admin is based on NT authentication.

Or get them to change their name to the same name ;)

Don't forget to save the Users favourite folder to a other destoination. It's deleted when the user is deleted
