Replacing System drive of SMS Primary

Is it possible to recover an SMS Server that has had the system (os) drive destroyed and therefore the registry.

The SMS Database and installation were on another drive and are intact.

have you tried using Microsoft's "Systems Management Server 2.0 Recovery Expert" already ?
