Hi guys,

is it possible to replace the ringtone with MoH?

We tried to set it up using CC:

1. Greeting
2. Transfer

We hear a short part of the MoH (< 1 sec) and then the phone rings and caller gets the ringtone.

We want caller never to hear the ringtone - go it working on Cisco System where we just selected silent on the server. ANy option equivalent to this on the BCM - CallPilot or Element Manager?

Regards

Nope. Spent along time trying to do this once, to no avail.

Adversity is Opportunity

It may not be possible...

eg In a common Hunt Group:

Caller rings into system and call is routed to the huntgroup, where the caller may queue (or be provided with Busy). While queuing the caller hears MOH or bip-bips until a hunt group memeber becomes available and then the call is answered.

In a Contact Centre Skill Set queue:

Caller rings in and is answered by Skill Set x or Auto Attendant Greeting Table y, any relevant greeting can then be played to the caller or they could route directly to their first skill set distribution step.

If agents are available the skill set will ring out and callers will hear ringing, until the next skillset step; after which any subsequent distribution steps provide the caller with MOH, basically the system is queuing the call until it is answered.
But while ever it is in the first distribution step the caller will always hear rining.

The burst of MOH at the beginning is, I think, provided while the AutoAttendant transfers the callers to a skill set, necessitating a brief period on hold.

Only a pet theory, a way round this may be to have a short-as-possible first distribution step...

If you send it to an ACD Queue, you can have RAN recordings.

You can't have MOH unless a call is answered first and then put on hold, thats why they call it MUSIC ON HOLD.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

The ring is the transfer from the AA or CCR to CC. You can have the Call Center answer the call this would eleminate the transfer.
