Replacing redundant power supply of PL6500

One of the power supplyies of my PL6500 have failed, and I have replaced it with a new one. The machine has detected the new power supply, but it is not used yet. It is just seen as present and the leds in the back are OK.
Does the server needs to be rebooted to get it to use the second power supply ?
