Replacing Outlook 2000 with Outlook 1997 1

Boss has Sharp Mobile Organizer. Synch software is not compatible with Outlook 2000 and no upgrade by maker planned. Possible to replace only Outlook 2000 with Outlook 1997 and keep rest of Office 2000? If so, what files to look for besides outlook .exe? TIA

Go to Start>control panel>add remove programs
Highlight office 2000
click on add remove button
You will be asked to insert the office 2k CD disk 1.
You will then be able to add or remove parts of Office 2k.

Once outlook 2000 is removed you can then install outlook98.

Alternatly tell the boss to dump the sharps and get a compaq organizer. He'll be happier.
