I pulled a 7.1 XC software and want to know what happens if I replace an older version in an MICS.
I won't replace anything older than 4.0.

It sounds like you are talking about downgrading the software. If so, the system will do a "cold restart" and you will loose all programming and key codes.

It may not even startup and yes you will loose key code for PRI.

If does not matter:

Do Startup
While applying template count to 20 and pull the power.
Remove any cards not required.
Swap software and power up.

Sorry! I was not clear. I have an extra 7.1 XC and want to toss some older software from one of the MICS I have.
Any problems?

I want to replace older software 4.0 or up with 7.1XC. I don't need the XC features but want to know what effect it might have.

Thanks guys,
Now I am off to my remedial posting class before asking another clear as mud question.
