I am replacing an old 2.12 Nam Copper with a 4.1 fiber. My current nam is on ports 269-272. When I connect the new Nam to the fiber card It will find new ports to use that I can search for in config correct. Can I do this with the old nam still in place? Once I find out the new ports I want to map the new ports to the old port numbers so I don't have to reprogram 50 stations with the new nam port numbers. Is this possible? Last thing, I just found a post saying my copper nam uses differnt codecs so if I do a backup and a restore to the new nam (fiber) the recordings will be garbled. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks

The NAM will automatically that the station numbers associated with the module number. The new NAM will have to be powered up alone. No other voicemail should be installed or running. (Remember to do a proper shutdown on the old NAM.) Also, reprogram all the CFNA and call forward on busy. Yes, you will have to reprogram the voicemail. You will get garbled messages.

Did you make sure the NAM is backwards compatible to your system software?
The NAM will take port numbers related to the fiber port you plug it into. 301, 401, 501, 601, 701 or 801 will be the first port it takes.

Yes, I have verified that my MICS software supports this. I have exchanged the new nam for a copper version to eliminate the need to redo my whole ccr tree and recordings.
Thanks
