Hey all,
I have resolved a previous issue with my RAID adapter, now I am trying to replace ntoskrnl.exe due to a corrupt OS drive(s). I boot using a win2k server CD go into Recovery, install additional drivers for my RAID adapter. Then i choose command prompt rather than going through the whole process of a restore. Not sure if a restore would effect any user (non-system) data on hard-disks? Besides i'm just trying to replace the one file, as of now ;-) ...

anyways, i get to the command prompt within the recovery console. I issue the command "expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ C:\winnt\system32" and receive an "Access is denied" message.

How can i replace ntoskrnl.exe?

Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated,

Thanks,
