We have a Merlin Legend R7 with the following modules:
Slot 1: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot 2: 016 w/ Ring Generator
Slot 3: 016 w/ Ring Generator
Slot 4: 012 w/ Ring Generator
Slot 5: 800 GS/LS

We only have 4 incoming lines so the only device on the 800 Module is the Loudspeaker.

We have ordered a 408 GS/LS-ID-MLX Module and are going to install it in slot 1 and move the 408 GS/LS-MLX module from Slot 1 to Slot 5.

I realize that we will have to do a board renumber on the system. My question is after we do the renumber will we have to reprogram/renumber the extensions on the 016 and 012 modules or will the retain their current information?

Thanks

No you will not have to renumber extensions since you are placing the board with the add'l station ports AFTER the existing ones. Just make sure since you are shorting the system by 4 trunks that you adjust the loudspeaker to the new port in case it was on one of the last 4 of the 800 mod.
So in essence, you will gain 8 station ports, and lose 4 trunk ports...unless you add the 800 after the new 408 ID/MLX card.

You should "UN-PROGRAM" anything and everything associated with the 800 Module BEFORE you remove it.

Like if you have lines in it that are in a pool, or on someones set and, as stated above, PAGING, this programming needs to be removed.

I would also advise that after you do those programming changes, you remove the 800 module and then do a board renumber prior to making any other hardware changes.

If you don't you could have BIG Problems.
