Greetings,

I have run into an issue while replacing two LT02 drives. I had an on site tech replace the two drives which are using fiber connection. I ran /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -report_disc and verified the missing/new drives. I swapped the old for the new using the correct paths.

I did this while Netbackup was up as was suggested. I can see the drives in the gui. I upped the drives and once a policy tried to write to using the drives they errored out and went down.

When using robtest it shows the drives as having sense code 0x40 and code qualifier 0x2. These drives are attached to a media server and not the main netbackup server.

Any help is appreciated.

If robtest is showing issues, then this is outside of NetBackup.
Have you tried inserting a tape and using mt -f /dev/rmt/??? status
to see if it recognizes a tape in the drive?
What is /var/adm/messages (or /var/log/syslog) showing? Any errors there?
