Replacing Launch Bar

I removed the Quick Launch Bar from my website, and now I want to replace it. How do I change the layout in my website so that I can manually put back in the link bars that made the Quick Launch bar work?

Go build a new site and look at the code behind it.

ok... I got the code behind it... how do I put it back exactly where it was? I'm trying to add a new column to the layout, but for some reason, I can't get it right. Is there a way to look at the layout table itself so that I can add a new column to it?

What? Who? ME????
