Hi All,
I feel like in a time warp since many of the relevant conversations I've looked at are from 2012 and earlier!

Anyway, here's my situation:
Had IP 406V2 (3.2-65) fail(would not power up at all.) So got a used replacement unit and after a lot of headache finally got in to reset LAN address and found out it is a 4.2(11) unit. So upgraded Manager on my PC to 6.2(23). Configuration pushed over to it and the base 8 DS ports are all working as expected.

IP400 Unit also seemed to fail, when powering up it is in a loop of the boot loader message(from DTE) with the green light on for about 2 seconds followed by 8 seconds red.
Anyway, got another used unit hooked it up and boots up fine. But the software/firmware on it is listed as 9.0(23)

I 'downgraded' the IP400 to 6.2(23) and upgraded the 406 to 4.2(23)
Both through the "Advanced -> Upgrade" process in Manager. Both succeeded however now when I try to load the configuration from the 406 I Get Network Error - Failed to communicate with IPOffice. Realized I set the "Security" settings in the Preferences while trying to figure out there was a difference between the Manager password and the Update password.

Both units are running fine now.

There was some big struggle to get the DTE communication to work with the 406 to actually get AT commands to work. But otherwise it was possible to swap out these two used units into our existing setup.

Lol, this post started out with me wanting to ask questions but ended up with things getting sorted out so I'll just report what happened!

After that date the IP400 series are taken out of the market and replaced with the IP500 series.
You should have looked in the FAQ area.
