Just had a Seagate ST336704LC U160 drive die in our RAID 5 array. The system is stil running using the remaining disks, however have been advised that seagate no longer produce this drive so cannot get a new replacement.
I am relatively inexperienced with hardware RAID arrays and would like to know what the options are to replace the dead drive. The drive itself is under warranty so will be replaced eventually but would rather have a redundant system running whilst the drive is replaced. When the repaired drive is returned we can install it as a hot swap spare drive for any future failures.

Go to google seach ST336704LC price

Get a new 5 year warranted drive !!!!!!
Don't get a recertified drive or refurb; as soon as you get the drive check on the seagate site for it's warranty period or call Seagate direct; if 90 days or a year, then it is a pull, recert or refurb, return it. The firmware revision, should match you firm on the drives in the array, reflash if it does not match, Seagate will supply the download.
