I have a report that prompts users for a date range, then the date range is split into two formula fields:

start prompt date
Minimum({?Date Range})

end prompt date
Maximum({?Date Range})

For the sake of simplicity, I would like to have the start prompt date be the first day of the current month and the end prompt date be today.

Thanks in advance.

Jason

clarification:

if you want the start prompt date to be the first day of the current month, then why use a prompt date? do you mean the start date of the month entered as the start date? or are you wanting a default date to appear in the prompt window?

This is a second copy of an existing report. I am also displaying YTD info for the current and prior fiscal year. Retaining the "start prompt date" & "end prompt date" formula fields precludes me from having to change several other formulas.

This new version will be scheduled in CRSXI to run daily and provide a fresh instance of the month to date info. I will maintain a copy of the date range supplied report for viewing data from previous months.

Thanks

Jason

Also, in this second copy, I will not be prompting users for a date range.

if you are going to be using CRM or infoview to schedule then you can use the exact same prompts you use for the original report and enter the first day of the month and the last day of the month during scheduling. As a matter of fact, you dont even have to create a new report. Just use the original report and have a seperate schedule instance in CRM or infoview. For subsequent (or previous) months though you would have to change the prompts.

my two cents

These folks just want to log in and view a MTD instance that is ready for viewing (runs daily at 3 am).

I did a little light reading and came up with

Minimum ( MonthToDate )
Maximum ( MonthToDate )

and it does what I need it to do.

I guess I am just a little confused about what you were trying to accomplish but ... Im glad you got it working!
