I want to ahead and try to upgrade the CPU's from our company's laptops. At the bottom of laptops there seems to be an opener where you can see the RAM and some sort of mini chip. Is that mini chip the CPU? I heard that it is not possible to change the CPU on laptops since it is integrated to the motherboard. Is there anyway to upgrade a laptop?

MOST laptops have the CPU hard wired onto the system board and cannot be upgraded. I have seen a few OLDER laptops that can be upgraded but not by regular CPU's> You would need a CPU desighned for the power saving functions of a laptop. So to be honest it would be EASIER to just purchase a new laptop or continue to use the old. James Collins

The chip you see is most likely not the cpu. Every laptop I have been in has had a very recognizable Intel (or other) cpu. They are usually wired to the main board and cannot be upgraded plus your looking at risking broken cases and other problems as laptops can be very difficult to get into.
