Replacing CatOS with IOS on 2948

I have a Catalyst 2948G-GE-TX (wsc2948G-GE-TX) that is running CatOS Version 8.3(2)

I really am not a fan of the CatOS and would like to replace it with the newest IOS Version. Can this be done? If so please explain how.

That switch has been End of Lifed and to my knowledge can only run CATOS.

2948 is catos only , its end of sale but not end of life .If it still works use it , these were good switches . If you learn catos I find it easier to use than IOS.
